Academic Excellence

At Grace Christian School one of our 3 major goals is to inspire your child to excellence! This is an education primed to develop students into leaders who will take an active role in managing their own learning, time, service projects, and teams. Here are some attributes which lead your child to a lifetime of learning with excellence!

  • Project-Based Learning and 21st Century Skills: One of our major goals at GCS is for students to learn by doing. Our students are engaged in content that: is interdisciplinary, is applied to real life situations, and promotes global awareness.
  • Collaboration: All learning at GCS is in a framework which encourages collaboration both in student group work and in-between students and teachers.
  • Technology: The use of technology for educational success is incorporated into all levels at GCS. Our students have designed websites, used online presentation apps, 3-D printers, and robotics.

In addition to our regular classes at GCS, we also offer enrichment courses to suit many different interests.

  • Honors Courses: Students in high school at GCS may elect to take on further learning in subjects of their choice. Honors courses receive up to a 4.5 GPA.
  • Online Courses: GCS offers online courses to enrich our academic offerings.
  • Dual Credit: Check out our Signature Programs page to learn more. Exceptional High School students are eligible to take courses at local colleges for both High School and College Credit. This is one way your investment in your child to attend GCS pays you back. Through this program students can earn 24 college credits, or even a Associate’s Degree while still in high school, for no extra cost.
  • Student Practicum experiences: GCS students volunteer in a non-profit and career field to receive real-life skills. This helps them to unleash their passion for helping through volunteering at a non-profit. Another main purpose of our career practicum education program is to provide students with opportunities for obtaining experience and developing skills related to anticipated careers through on-the-job training at businesses and industries. In addition to skill development, emphasis is placed on the development of good work habits, responsibility, character, and leadership.

We also participate in Academic events including: Spelling Bee, Math Olympics, Creative Writing Contest, and Science/Learning Fairs.
